SBI Recruitment Selection Process:

The selection process for Circle Based Officers includes an Online Test, Screening, and Interview.

Online Test:

Descriptive Test:

  • Duration: 30 minutes
  • Total Marks: 50

Tasks: Letter Writing and Essay (two questions)

The merit list is compiled Circle-wise and Category-wise based on the aggregate marks obtained in the Online Test. No sectional qualifying marks are applicable. Candidates, approximately three times the number of vacancies, are shortlisted for the Screening phase from the top of the merit list, subject to achieving the minimum qualifying score.

Screening:

Candidates shortlisted from the online examination undergo screening based on their application and documents. The Screening Committee checks whether candidates meet the required eligibility criteria of experience. The job profile submitted by the candidates is compared with the job profile of Scale-I Generalist Officer of the State Bank of India. If there is a substantial mismatch, the application is rejected.

Interview:

The interview carries a weightage of 50 marks. Candidates must achieve the minimum qualifying marks in the interview to be eligible for final selection. Specific minimum qualifying marks for this stage are determined by the Bank.

Final Selection:

Candidates must qualify separately in both the Online Test and Interview. The final merit list is prepared by combining the marks obtained in the Online Test and Interview. Marks are normalized, with a weightage of 75:25, respectively. The final merit list, on a Circle-wise and Category-wise basis, is determined by aggregating the converted marks from the Online Test and Interview, resulting in a total out of 100. Selection is conducted from the candidates ranked at the top of the merit list.
